Remodel and Addition
Location: Northfield, Minnesota
Project Description
Prairie Creek Community School is a small country elementary school in rural Minnesota that was remodeled and an addition was constructed. The project included the addition of a multipurpose space, media center, classroom remodeling, air condition of office space, and kitchen upgrade. In addition, the mechanical, electrical and technology was updated with the building being sprinkled in its entirety. Special project features include the following:
- On-site renewable energy (Photovoltaic)
- Energy dash-board inside building for education and demonstration
- High efficiency lighting
- Advanced lighting control to reduce energy consumption
- High efficiency furnaces
- Fire Pump house with on-site, stand-alone fire protection system to provide fire protection of the building
- The building is served by an on-site well and septic system
- Life Safety upgrades
- Complete technology upgrade
